CactusAdmin Privacy Policy
The short version. CactusAdmin has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. Everything you enter is stored on your device and, if you have iCloud turned on, in your own private iCloud account. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else. We do not collect, sell, share or transmit your personal information.
Who we are
CactusAdmin is made by Cactus Apps, a sole developer based in Australia. You can reach us at privacy@cactusapps.net.
What the app stores, and where
CactusAdmin records what you choose to enter:
- Properties, vehicles and their details
- Utility bills, vehicle expenses, receipts and tax expenses
- Documents and images you attach, such as photographs of receipts
- Two preferences: your display name and your tax region
All of it is stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, it also syncs to your private iCloud database so your records appear on your other Apple devices. That database belongs to you and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to it and no ability to grant anyone else access to it.
What we collect
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking identifiers and no third-party code of any kind. It makes no network requests to any server operated by us, because we do not operate one. There is no account to create and no email address to give us.
This is a property of how the app is built, not a promise about how we behave.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera — only when you choose to photograph a receipt or document. Images are saved into the app's own storage.
- Photo library — only when you choose to attach an existing image. We read the file you pick and nothing else.
Both are optional. Declining them means you cannot attach photographs; everything else in the app works normally.
Calendar
When you ask CactusAdmin to add a vehicle renewal to your calendar, it hands a pre-filled event to Apple's own calendar screen. You choose the calendar and the alert, and you save it. The app requests no calendar permission and never reads your calendar.
Exporting and sharing
CactusAdmin can export your records as CSV files and share attachments. Exports are written to a temporary folder on your device and handed to the standard iOS share sheet. Where they go next is entirely your choice — email, Files, a message, your accountant. Once a file leaves the app through the share sheet, this policy no longer governs it and the privacy policy of wherever you sent it applies.
Children
CactusAdmin is a general-purpose records app intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and because it collects no data, we do not knowingly or unknowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data is yours and stays until you delete it. You can delete individual records in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes its local copy; if iCloud sync is on, your records remain in your iCloud account and will return if you reinstall. To remove them from iCloud entirely, use Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage on your device.
We hold no copy of your data, so there is nothing for us to delete and no deletion request for you to send us.
Your rights
Australian privacy law and, for users elsewhere, laws such as the GDPR give you rights to access, correct and delete personal information held about you. Because we hold none, those rights are satisfied directly in the app: your information is already in your possession, editable by you, and deletable by you. If you believe otherwise, please write to us at privacy@cactusapps.net.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a future version were to collect anything at all, we would say so here plainly and ask for your consent in the app before it happened.
